I had to re install XP home 2002 today, now it want except the product key
number. Has anyone had this problem before??? Thanks

Do you mean "won't accept"?

Are you using the keycode supplied with the installation media?.. are you
typing it in correctly?

Yes I got the wife to check to make sure. It just keeps showing invalid
product key number. I loaded all 4 disc that came with the dell computer.
Clicked on mircosoft office entered name, org., then number (did this many
times) all upper case. Stumped!!!!!!

Why are you clicking on Microsoft office--when its Windows XP that is of
interest??

If you trying to use your Windows XP Product key in MIcrosoft Office instead
of Windows XP, it should be no surprise that it doesn't work.

You need to examine the Product Key very carefully. It's awfully
easy to mistake a "B" for an "8," a "G" for a "6," an "S" for a "5," or
a "Q" for a "0" or "O." Fortunately, Microsoft had the good sense to
leave the "1's," "I's," "O's," and "0's" out of the equation. Also, be
sure that your <CapsLock> is _off_ while entering the Product Key --
this isn't supposed to make a difference, but I've seen it do so, on
rare occasions.

You may need to contact Dell tech support. Dell is responsible for problems
with the operating system on your computer including how it is installed.
That is due to an agreement between Microsoft and Dell which enables Dell to
place the operating system on their computers before selling them.
