Re-Installing Windows XP Home

I have Windows XP home installed as a upgrade from Windows 98 SE. I want to
upgrade my laptop and re-install Windows. Do I always have t go through the
route of Re-Installing Windows 98, then using th upgrade or is there a
revoery disk / CD option I can use to install Windows XP Home directly.
 
There is no need to install the early edition, you just need the cd
available to pop in when your upgrade cd complains that it cannot find a
qualifying product.
Upgrade your Laptop in what way? it shouldnt be neccessary to reinstall Win

Yes it can be done, you simply need to insert your Windows 98
installation CD during the Windows XP setup. See this guide:
