re-installing OS resulted in mult. Admin folders

Due to a corrupt XP file of some sort, I was instructed
by PC tech support team to reinstall XP. I did so, and
although the original problem was resolved, I now have
under "C:\Documents and Settings" the original
Administrator folder (no longer in use) and a new
Administrator-GATEWAY USER folder. I'd like to somehow
do away with the new folder and point back to the
original one.

Is this even possible?
 
Hi,

No, it's not possible, different SID's, so it won't work. You can copy over
data from the old one to the new one, if you get "access denied", read this
on taking ownership:
