Hi, I'm considering re-installing Windows XP as I'm getting numerous errors
like incorrect icons, folders not remenbering what view to show etc. I
currently have 3 Windows Partitions-one for Windows itself, one for my
applications (this is where 'Program Files' is) and one for my data.
My question is, would it be better to delete the data in all 3 and then
re-install, or can I keep the data in my applications and data partitions?
Is it better to do an 'upgrade/repair' install, and will this be better for
my multi-partition system i.e. is Windows-install intelligent enough to
build the registry with the different drive letters included?
All the problems originated from the partitioning process,
since obviously the drive letters got mucked up!

You should be fine with leaving your applications and data partitions alone.
(Note: If you perform a clean installation, you'll need to reinstall your
applications, regardless of whether you preserve the applications
partition.)

If I do a clean re-install, will I be able to re-activate Windows XP and
Office XP? I think this would be better than just repair-installing.
