I was having problems with explorer.exe so I decided to
reinstall win2k pro. I copied the 'documents and settings'
folder from the bad HD onto another HD that also had 2k
pro. When I had reinstalled 2k pro onto the bad drive
the 'my documents' folder still had its files in there,
but outlook couldn't find the e-mails or the address book.
So I copied the 'documents & Settings' files back off the
good HD onto hat was a bad one and I still cant find the
emails. I have found one set of .dbx files which are empty
as is the wab file I found. Where are my e-mails and how
do i get them back?

If you can't find them in a wildcard search then they were most likely overwritten. But you also wrote, "outlook" as opposed to
Outlook Express. If your mail program is Outlook, you'll be searching for a .pst file that has mails and contacts.

That was exactly it I was told *.dbx but I should have
been looking for *.pst. Thank you very much.
