Because of a pervasive and seemingly un-repairable problem
with an overactive Svchost.exe, I believe that I need to
re-install windows 2000. I am currently on SP4 so this
will set me back quite a bit because my original disk is
pre-SP1.
When I insert the original disk, it gives me only one
option - a complete replacement of the operating system.
What I am concerned about is that if I do this will it
wipe out all of my files?
My questions are: If I do this, is the only way a
complete re-installation from pre SP1? If I do this, will
it wipe out my existing files?
