Hi, novice wishes to reinstall windows xp, as part of an annual 'spring
clean'.

I thought of going to buy a small external hard drive. I seems so far that
one of the small 'Novatech' solid state type of about 60 MB costs £70.u.k.
[ $128 u.s.] might be good. but I would really welcome any advice about
this.

The idea is to save the favorites folder and outlook express on this
external hard drive and also install programs for the zone alarm firewall
and the avg anti virus also the printer driver.

would someone kindly be able to explain the best way to save favorites
and OE and how to get at the 'relevant files'. Because when I go to start
menu>find and type in 'outlook express' I get 18 files listed.

which ones should I choose to save on the external hard drive, please? many
thanks.

For favorites and cookies, open IE and use File | Export.
