Just pop your "Office" cd back in the machine and re-enable Power Point

"no disc" got to get it from the machines innards, somehow, but thanks

If you don't have the CD, you can't install it. "Get[ting] it from the
machines innards, somehow" is not possible,

No disc? Was it a legal copy in the first place?
If your pc manufacturer preloaded it, they should have given you a means to restore it.
Check with tech support by your pc manufacturer or buy another copy.

Insert the CD from which it was originally installed, and follow the
on-screen instructions.

You can think it all you want, but it's not going to happen without
installation media.

Actually my brain just awoke after a long sip of coffee, you may be able to
reinstall without the media, what version of Office is it? If it's 2003 (not
sure on earlier) go to add/remove programs, select your office install, and
select the change button, that MAY let you reinstall it if the setup files
were cached on the hard drive during the original installation.

Sorry to tell you this, but what you think about this is *not* correct.

That maybe right
because IIRC, the cd is actually needed to uninstall components
so it's possible Power Point was not actually uninstalled...
but simply disabled

Did you have all of power point or just power point viewer. Power point
viewer was available free as a download from Microsoft.
