re-install of xp user files not on desktop

I have re-installed xp pro my previous desktop had files and folders on it . These have all been replaced with blank desktop is there any way to get xp to restart with previous settings, they are on computer i can see them i just don't know how to apply them at start

I have this problem as well, Itried to install a new sound card, one thing led to another and I ended up re-installing XP. I would like to know how to activate those old files...

Try downloading and running this vbs script from Kelly's site and then
restart and see if your problem is fixed. You'll probably need to open IE
from task manager (iexplore).
