Re-establish Win Messenger after hard drive crash

Since I could not find this on the site nor in FAQ's,
hopefully someone has done this before. My hard drive
took the big crash last week. I have since installed a
new hard drive and want to re-establish my Windows
Messenger ID without running into the duplicate ID
problem. Is there a special set of instructions for
getting this feature back running as it was before? Or do
I just go in and add me back in and the system will be
smart enough to know that it is me?

thank you for taking the time to answer me. I had an
inkling that was the case but my luck of last week
precluded me from trying that without at least one other
sensible mind telling me I was going in the right
direction. So thanks again
