I have somehow hit the checkbox for "don't ask me to save this password".
How can I reset the prompt so it will ask me and save a password? I have
many passwords saved and I do not want to reset all of them. Just this one
password is not being remembered and I want it remembered. I checked all
over microsoft help on this site. I checked cookies. I tried to find it in
the registry. There should be a simple way to clear this flag.

Remember passwords again.

IE-Tools-Internet Options-Content-Autocomplete and check "Prompt me to
save passwords"

....Alan

Thanks for trying, Alan. I do have "Prompt me to save passwords" set. It
has saved "many passwords". When I enter a password in an autocomplete
field, there is a popup with a checkbox prompt "Don't ask me to save this
again." Once this is checked, how do you reset the prompt so it will allow
me to save the password.

I know it is autocomplete because on another computer, autocomplete works
just fine on that form on that password.

Delete all of the passwords.

Appreciate your help, Frank. As I said in the original post " I have
many passwords saved (60) and I do not want to reset all of them". If you
are positive that deleting the passwords will also reset the "don't ask me
again flags", I'll delete them. I'm not sure that deleting the passwords
will reset the flag. It's a pretty heavy club to just clear a flag. Got
anything with a little more finesse?

Got it. I found Protected Storage PassView in another discussoin. Cleared
the one password. When I started the form again, I got prompted for the
password and it remembered it. I was a little conservative when I thought I
had 60 passwords. I had 118 password entries. Thanks for trying to help
gentlemen. That would be Protected Storage PassView:

Now, if passwords can be displayed that easily, isn't that a security issue?

Is the username being saved by AutoComplete?
If so you may be able to delete it and then later re-add it.
When you re-add it you would be given the opportunity to save its
associated password as well (but only after the site accepts it.)

Good luck
