Hi Pete, thanks but I've tried this yesterday and it's
not possible:

a). F10 does not do anything at startup on the Evo N610c.
F8 does bring me to a config menu but does not have the
options specified below.
b). Disabling the mouse, from the mouse properties in
Control panel, diables both the touchpad and the external
mouse! I need the external mouse.

Any other ideas?

Best Regards,
Rob

The implication from the article on the Compaq support site is that, when
both the touchpad and external mouse drivers are installed, the hardware tab
in the mouse properties should show both devices. If that is the case then
you should be able to select only the touchpad, then disable that device via
the device usage menu in the relevant properties box.

hope that helps

Hi Pete,

That makes more sense of course. However, my only driver
is the "PS/2 compatible mouse" for Device Type: Mice and
other pointing devices. Where can I get an external mouse
driver from, as a single driver, therefore allowing me
select either the all pointing device driver or single
external mouse driver?

I tried installing the mouse again, but it still lists
the driver above as the only option.

Cheers,
Rob
