Tony said:I suspect the power supply has failed although with some printers the power
supply can be prevented from operating by a problem in the main logic.
Other than removing the covers and seeing if there is a fuse on the power
supply that has blown and reseating any internal cables I regret to say that I
think a replacement printer is going to be necessary.
If you know someone who is skilled at electronics they may be able to attempt a
repair.

Some models had a design flaw where pulling out the power cord could
damage the logic board, likewise putting a broken printhead could damage
the logic board, and amazingly, putting a working printhead into a
printer with a damaged logic board would short the printhead. MP810 (or
MP830, I forget) was such a model: I had 4 and burnt all of
them. Finally, I sent one to repairs, cost just ~11500 JPY (fixed cost!)
including the delivery service, and I got a new ink head and new logic
board.
So if you value your machine, and it certainly seems to need a printhead
already, then you could get a pretty good deal on the fixed cost repairs now.
