I am using Win XP (SP2) with Firefox 3.0 and T/Bird 2.0.18 and have just
installed Kaspersky IS 9. Already I have had two random re-boots of
windows. Co-incidence or what ?

Most likely. Random reboots are indicative of hardware problems such asbad RAM, CPU, CPU
fan and coooling, etc.

The etc. includes the PSU itself, quite often a cause of random
reboots coming out of the blue on an otherwise stable PC. I have K9
and it's never caused problems.

Thanks for the response, and you must speak as you find, but here's
another coincidence: I uninstalled KIS 9 and haven't had a random reboot
after two days of constant use! I realise there are probably fixes for
this but, really, life's too short and I don't see why I should have to.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time.
