Re-associate media files in MM2

If I have a 14GB media file that is part of an existing MM2 project and I wish to relocate the original media file. When I do that, MM2 just gives me a red X--it doesn't prompt me to tell it where the file has been moved to. Is there any way to do this

thanks

Right click on the red X and use the option to browse to
the missing file.

It won't prompt you and I'm glad it doesn't... I have
zillions of red X's in my collections pointing to source
files that I keep on CSs, and only want to relink them
when needed.

My problem is slightly different:

Red Xs have appeared after haveing done a restructuring of
my directories in the desktopexplorer. So I try to
reconnect them. I choose the new path of the file (same
name, but in a new directory) and confirm. With one
project this method worked, but other projects result in
the error:

"The selected file doesnt't fit sufficiently, choose
another file or ..." (German message translated)

Do you have an idea how to reconnect the clips to the
source-clip ?

My notes about what you can and can't do with source files, and still
re-connect them, are on the Managing.. Source Files of my website. If the
file is the same and it doesn't work with the new path, maybe you need to
try going back to the original path and trying there.
