Can some one please post how to add programs to the startup group. All
my attempts are denied.

Thanks,

Right click on the Start Orb, and select Explore all Users. Then past your
shortcut in the Startup folder. (You will get a UAC prompt, but going this way
should allow you the necessary permissions to add items to your Start Menu.)

I followed your instruction. Changed permissions for sharing. However
after all of that the system responded with An error occurred while
trying to share Start Menu. Access denied. The shared resource was
not created at this time.

I assume once you add the shortcut if you open msconfig you should see
the program you want in the startup group appearing there?

Thanks for persevering with me

There is no need to change permissions. When you right click on the Start Orb,
and select Open A L L Users, the changes will be made for ALL users. After
a restart, your program should be shown in msconfig's Startup tab for all users
logged onto the system.

Followed your directions but the new program did not appear in the
startup group after a reboot when i checked msconfig.

not sure why.

Was able to add program to my own startup group but not to ALL USERS.

Thanks for the assist.
