RDP Not Working After ZoneAlarm Uninstall.....

Hi,


I installed ZoneAlarm (just to see what outbound data was flowing) and
then uninstalled it. (It was on my machine for 5 mins!)


Now Remote Desktop does not work.


Just get error saying that I cannot connect to the remote computer.


It worked before the install, I did not change any of the settings, and
now it does not.


Anyone got any ideas?

Run system restore and choose the point before or at the time that ZoneAlarm
was installed. Remember to backup your files and settings at every change to
the system.
 
Yeah, had thought of that - thanks - just wondered if there was "one"
thing I could do rather than a restore.

Sussed it.... the uninstall (or install?) must fiddle with the Windows
Firewall.

When I had a look the Windows Firewall was enabled, with RDP disabled.

Now - I can't remember whether or not I had Windows Firewall enabled (I
have a hardware firewall) BUT, if it was, then RDP will also have been
enabled.

ZA either switches the firewall on, or diables RDP, or both - during
either installation or unistallation. Poor.
