RDP "into" my XP Pro PC recently stopped working. Now, I
can only RDP out/from this PC but not into it.

You would still be able to connect outbound with Remote Desktop
disabled on your desktop. The server and the client do not require
each other to operate on your machine.

To test if Remote Desktop is working locally, you need to run the
following command: "telnet localhost 3389". If it clears the screen
and waits a few second, Remote Desktop is listening. If it responds
unable to connect or the screen disappears quickly, then the Remote
Desktop service isn't listening. Sometimes Windows XP will "disable"
itself on its own (I have had cases of this happening from other
people). Thus, you should double check the Remote Tab. Otherwise,
start Computer Management (Start=>Run=>compmgmt.msc) and look for any
Remote Desktop/Terminal Services entries in your event log).

If it is enabled, it is either a firewall or IP issue. With ICF, you
need to have selected the Remote Desktop option under the ICF
settings. Otherwise, like Al suggested, re-verify your IP...

The error message states that it couldn't connect to your computer,
which is caused by one of the above issues...
