Short version: if I have UPnP enabled on my router, do I still have to
forward the RDP ports?
Long version: My router is UPnP capable, and it is enabled. There are three
(Vista Ultimate x64) computers connected to the router, each of them listens
for RDP on different ports (3388, 3389 and 3387). I nevertheless cannot
access any of the LAN computers from outside unless I explicitly forward the
ports in the router's configuration--again, despite the fact that the
router's UPnP is enabled! Does that mean that there's something wrong with my
router? Or does it mean that I don't really know what UPnP is supposed to do?
Note that the router doesn't seem to have problems forwarding other protocols
by itself: the Skype ports are forwarded, bit torrent ports are forwarded
etc. without my doing anything.
