I connect to many servers with RDC, both on the local network, and remotely.
Do you get any error messages?

Yes i do get error messages saying `Could not connect client because it has a
version older than vista'. Are u gonna help or temme wat works with u !!!

You'll have to post more details. Are you trying to connect to a terminal
server. Are you trying to remotely administer a server? Could you connect
with XP? Please detail what you are trying to do and the steps you take to
do it.

Hi. I believe the problem is happening because the server is using Network
Level Authentication and the client is not. On the Server, go to the Remote
tab and select "Allow connections from computers running any version of
Remote Desktop."

Let me know if this doesn't solve the problem. Thanks.

I didn't think NLA was available for anything other than Longhorn and Vista?

Sorry but it has not solved the problem. Actually my problem is to login
remotely to other pc which has windows server 2003 not logging in remotely to
windows vista.
In other words, logging to windows vista from older versions is happening
but logging in from older versions to windows vista is not happening. Please
help !

I'm even more confused after this post. Please post some details of what you
are trying to do. e.g. I am using a computer running Vista Business. I am
using Remote Desktop Connection to logon and administer a computer running
Server 2003 SP2 that is connected to the same subnet. The server is a
domain controller. I see this error message "xxxxx yyyyy zzzzz" on the
screen when I try this. I am sure your situation is different from this
scenario but that is the kind of detail we need, exactly what you are trying
to do and what happens when you do it.

I am using a computer running Vista Business. I am
using Remote Desktop Connection to logon and administer a computer running
Server 2003 SP2 that is connected to the same subnet. The server is a
domain controller. I see this error message "The remote computer is running
a version of Windows that is earlier than WindowsVvista" on the
screen when I try this. Hope its enough for you to rectify the problem.

Thank you. That helps. I'm looking at that dialog box right now. At the
bottom it says "Do you want to continue?" I click on "Yes" then I am
connected to the server where I have to enter my username and password
again. Is this not the case in your situation?

I don't know if you have solved your issue yet but you can configure the
Vista RDP 6.0 client to "Always connect, even if authentication fails" in
the Remote Desktop "Options -> Advanced -> Server authentication ->
Authentication options:" drop down. That should preclude you from getting
the error message when connecting to a legacy server that does not support
Network Level Authentication (NLA).
