RD not passing keystrokes?

I am trying to use Remote Desktop for a client to work from home.

Both computers are using Win XP Pro and both are behind D-Link
gateway/routers with port 3389 forwarded to the client on one end and the
host on the other end.

I can connect the remote computer to the host, log in, see the desktop and
move the mouse around on the remote desktop (I think, but perhaps not). I am
unable to open
any programs or do any work because the keystrokes and mouse clicks do not
appear to be being passed to the remote machine. I have tried my laptop at
the client site and it exhibits identical behaviour, even though it will
succesfully get in to other Remote Desktop hosts.

I tried connecting from a different site to the same host computer, and had
a similar situation to one posted on August 8 by another user, that is - the
shift key appeared to be stuck, but I was able to type and click as long as
I stayed away from the arrow keys. That remote client is also running WXP
Pro, but is behind a LinkSys gateway/router.

These problems appear to be related (possibly to the router?). Does anyone
have any suggestions?

Is there any change if the D-Link is powered off and brought back up? If
so, how long until the issue reoccurs?

No, powering of either/both D-Links does not seem to cure
the problem. Same with powering off the D-Link at the remote
host and the LinkSys at my remote client.

I have the same problem with KB/MOUSE.
But I can connect to the same host from other computer.

Is your problem resolved yet? If so can you post the
solution?

Thanks
