I wish to Rclick Start+Explore to display My Computer with ALL folders and
short cuts collapsed as shown below:
Desktop
+ My Documents
+ My Computer <== Highlighted
+ My Network Places
Norton Protected Places

Currently, Rclick Start+Explore highlights Start Menu, and My Documents is
expanded within Local Disk that is expanded within an expanded My Computer.

I'm running Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 1.

Hi Anthony,
I just tried Windows Key + E, and this did nothing at all on my Notebook.
That is, I held down the Windows Key and then depressed the E key. What am
I missing?

Hi Peter,

Do any the Windows hotkeys work?
WindowKey + r opens the run command
WindowKey + m minimizes all windows
If these don't work check your Group Policy Settings.

run: gpedit.msc
Look under "User Configuration", "Administrative Templates", "Windows
Components", "Windows Explorer"
Check the last item listed; "Turn off Windows+X hotkeys", it should be on
either "not configured" or "enabled".

Not possible. The start button is an object and a graphical representation
of the Start Menu folders. Right clicking here and selecting Explorer will
always open with the focus on those folders.

What I've done is added an Explorer shortcut to my Quick Launch bar. By
editing the target line to read:
%windir%\explorer.exe /e,

A single click opens Explorer with the focus on My Computer. The My
Computer "folder" is expanded with this method but at least it's close to
what you are looking for.
