I tried to install VIsta since beta 2 but I am not able to install it. Every
time I get blue screens. I think it has something to do with drivers but
can't find out witch drivers because when I finaly get it installed I only
can boot into safe mode and when I look at the installed hardware all seem to
be ok because I see no exclamation sign at some driver. I have MCE2005
installed in this system and it works without problems so I don't think it
has to do something with faulthy hardware.

Here are the specs if my system:
I have a Asus K8N4-E deluxe motherboard (socket 754) with AMD64 3000+
processor, a soundlbaster audigy soundcard, 1 Hauppauge MCE500 and 1 MCE150
card (3 tuners), a Nvidia Geforce 6600LE videocard, 1024 Mb memory, SATA
harddisk 300GB.

I also have a system with almost the sam specs but it has a Socket 939 based
motherboard (MSI K8N diamond plus) and on this system I manage to install
Vista, so it has to do something with the socket (motherboard dirvers) I
think.

Does anyone have a succesfull installation on a Socket 754 motherboard?

Yes, on both AsRock K8S8X (SiS755) and Asus K8N-E Deluxe (Nforce 3).

Have you tried taking out some of the cards you don't need, like the tuner
cards? If I really wanted to get it to work, I would go back to a basic
system and go from there. At least you would eliminate or confirm if the
tuner cards were having a problem.

I have a Gigabyte K8NS Pro Nforce 3-250 (skt 754), AMD64 3200 Newcastle,
5700LE, 1 GB RAM. 2x80 GB SATA RAID 0. I have been able, without problems, to
install all the various builds of Vista (x86 and x64). I have used the native
drivers from Vista on each install. granted, the system is without frills in
that I even use the onboard sound without problems. I would have to agree
with the thought to remove some of the extra cards to get the system set up
then start to add things. Good luck...talker.
