The 25 digit product number that it asks for during installation, however
some folks say you can install without one, gives you choice of build
Basic, Premium, Ultra, etc. but only for either 14 or 30 days. I have never
done this,
always used key and installed Vista Ultra.

For those of us who haven't installed RC1 what's the key?

You need to have your own key. I'm not sure if it possible to get new
keys at this time. I think if you install without a key you can use the
program for 14 days (or is it 30).

I have already activated. The product was the Enterprise edition. Do you know
if it's possible to upgrade to Ultimate as I'm now also sitting with a
Ultimate key?

I don't know. I only do clean installs.

Well, you could try. From within Enterprise run setup or install and when it
asks for key
supply your Ultimate key. I think it will then give you the options of
upgrade or not.
Then depending on results, you could backout or continue. If you do this
please tell us what happened.

You can get a key online. Just go to the Vista Home page
(http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/) and click on try Windows Vista, then
click "Get Windows Vista RC1 and sign up as a CPP. You get a page with a Key
which you can print, plus you get an email with key. You do not have to
download RC1.

Yes, that's a good idea. But I can't find where to start this setup... I was
also told to that when I just tried to change product key in the My Computer
section.

I haven't got Vista on a cd, but can I run the setup from somewhere in the
control panel?
