Would it be safe to delete the file that Windows creates after you install
RC2? I'm really wanting to rid my pc of anything that was on there. Would
it hurt anything? After the install of RC2, is anything being read from that
old fine that Windows creates? Does the series of questions make sense? :)

Thank you for any suggestions/help. I wish I had the money to purchase a
hard drive to back the information up....but, money is tight right now.

Thanks, again.

Did you upgrade or clean install rc2? I am assuming you upgraded and windows
has a temp install file is that it ?

Hello Cheddarhead,

I didn't have the option to upgrade. It said clean install, but Windows
created a file on my hd called windows.old. I'm thinking it would be ok to
delete that, but I don't want to goof anything up if it's trying to read
anything from that folder. *shrug*
Know what I mean?
I made a back up w/ OneCare.
So, I'm pretty sure it would be ok?

If you are talking about the folder 'Windows.old' - yes, you may
safely delete the folder and its contents (which is an earlier Vista
installation).

Not by Windows - only possibly by you, if you stored data within the
old Windows installation and want to use or save them.
Does the series of questions make sense? :)

Yes (no smiley;-).
