Depressed, just been informed that my express upgrarde disks will not be
arriving for 4 to 8 weeks. Does anyone remember how long RC1 will operate for
before it stops working, I have vague memories of a date when I installed it.
I am loathe to go back to XP so if its going to lock me out before I get my
free upgade disks it's off to the shops for me

RC1 will expire on either 1 June 2007, or 31 May 2007, depending on your
time zone.

If you run Winver.exe you will see the date and time it expires.
You could always buy a copy of Vista, but not activate it. You can use it
for 30 days. Then install your copy when it arrives. Of course that is only
a good option if you can give or sell it to someone else and you don't mind
reinstalling. Though there might be something in the "Change product key" so
you might not have to reinstall.

Yes it's the same. RC2 is a later release. Whether that means it runs
better on your system is impossible to say, though it should.
