RC1 missing the download

I have downloaded RC1 (twice now!) and cant locate the file. The first
download went to My Documents folder and I changed properties to display
hidden files but couldnt see the ISO file.

Second download was to the desktop and again cant see it.

The download manager indicated that it had finished both times - so I
expected the file to be visible.

Is there something I am doing incorrectly?

Cheers

Same thing happened to me took 18 hours altogether. In the end I used
firefoxs own download and it worked fine to desktop. Burnt as ISO no problem

Thanks Chinga

I have done that.

Now following some advice and using FDM to get the file - hopefully that works

Thanks Basil

I am now using freedownloader and hopefully will get that to work.

I am up 36 hours and 120% of my download limit for the month!

Never give up ...never surrender

The file will be in the "Virtualized" folder under
C:\Users\You\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet
Files\Virtualized

Copy and paste this address in the address toolbar and replace "You" with
your user name.

Or, you can get to the Temporary Internet Files folder the normal way, but
you have to enter the Virtualized folder name yourself.

Thanks for the information.

I must be as thick as 2 short planks! I have drilled down to the temporary
internet files...but I am stumped as to where to go from there.

Neither of the downloads is visible - and FDM didnt finish the download
(hung up at 2200Mb).

So I think I might just order the dvd to and go from there

I must say I am pleasantly surprised by the assistance I have received on
the newsgroups - thatnks to all

If you have drilled down to the Temporary internet files folder, go to the
address bar and type in \Virtualized at the end. You will then see a folder
for your C drive. Once you are in the Virtualized folder, you can navigate
it as a normal folder. It should be there even if you haven't downloaded
anything. Or copy the below directory (replace "You" with your user name)
and right click on the taskbar, choose toolbars and check the address
toolbar. Now the taskbar should have an address box on it. In that box,
put the below directory address, modifying it to your particular
information.

C:\Users\You\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet
Files\Virtualized

What Colin is trying to say does not seem to be accurate. If I download
Firefox from the internet, it goes into my downloads folder, not a
"sandbox". Only with the Akami download manager does the problem seem to
present itself.

Clark

It's only downloads that are instigated through IE7 that get sandboxed. So
if you visited Microsoft's site using IE7 and got the Akamai download
manager, IE7 is in charge. Protected Mode.
