its backed up i have tons of school stuff and music n personal files...can
someoen please help me i dont mind if you even call me i really need to get
back to xp and have ALL my stuff there ASAP 407-234-3646 my name is Bobby

Bobby,

Unfortunately you made a couple of bad choices in loading Vista. But since
you have the Windows.old directory you can navigate down through it to get
to your 'Documents and Settings' directory and get your personal files. You
can move these to the new User directory that Vista uses and access them
from there.

Of course you will still need to reinstall any programs, e.g. Word, Excel,
etc. to be able to work with them.

To set up a dual boot you need to install Vista to a separate hard drive or
partition than the one the XP is on. There is no way to get XP back at this
point without reinstalling it.

ok but if i install xp on here now will it utilize the windows.old folder
thus all my information will be back on? there has to be an easier way hince
the point of the file being there

I'd suggest not feeling bad about it.

There is, in my opinion, always a sense of adventure in using CTPs or
beta stuff.

The learning curve can be quite adventurous but I'd rather do that for
free :)

Nope. It won't use the information in Windows.old - Just don't format the
drive when installing XP otherwise you'll lose all of your files. I
strongly sugest you backup all of your important files just in case you make
another mistake. :)

Mark can you do me a favor n call me or give me a number to call you as
questions are coming to me n this can be time consuming through here
