About two weeks ago I downloaded Pre-RC1. Now there is RC1. Are they different?
TIA Gerhard

Yeah, Pre-RC1 (build 5536) is an interim release that does not reflect the
same level of quality, stability and performance as a milestone build such
as BETA 2 or RC1.

Tell you what Andre 5536 is pretty damn good, how much better can RC1
be? I have yet to bugger it up and I have been trying and I am very
good at hosing a PC. Performance is very good, drivers work, printers
work, Networking still an overcomplicated pain to set up but it works
eventually, Arero works great. I would also like to point out I have
never been a fan of Vista as I see little reason to upgrade perfectly
good XP machines however 5536 has convinced me to upgrade 1 machine
when its released.

Are there any specific details about on the differences / fixes /
changes you can point me at?

I will put RC1 in this month sometime but I only just got round to
5536 so I want to keep it for a couple of weeks.

Hey, I have been posting all day from 5536, I haven't downloaded RC1 x64
yet, so I am running the x86 5536 until I get RC1 x64. Like I said before,
it varies by machine, for some, it could be performance, driver support or
better deployment experience.

Look at it this way. If 5536 was good enough for RC1 status, it would be.
But it is not, 5600 is RC1. 5536 did not hold up to RC1 standards.
