This is a frequently asked question on this newsgroup. RC2 was available a
few weeks ago for that weekend only, and it has already closed. You can
torrent it, but there's legality issues with that as well as not being
certain about the source.
I wouldn't say it rocks...it stumbles around like walking on rocks
maybe.
There's still a lot of work to be done. If it makes this month I'll be
very surprised - I think it'll be delayed. If it does go gold, that
means Microsoft is more interested in selling a product that is
clearly not ready for the masses rather than getting it ready (read:
greed) for consumers.
RC2 is a noticeable improvement over RC1, and the current tech 58xx
I'm sure is better still. But if RC2 is any indication of a finished
product, they still have a lot to fix.
RC2 was pulled after they hit their download quota. I read that
200,000 was the limit so it didn't stay on the download site very
long.
Now you have it Bill. Of course a ton won't be fixed and a ton was left on
the cutting room floor. Vista is the quintissential example of trying to
sell sizzle without sutstantive functionality to back it up.
I liked Suzie Quatro's music. Good song. Maybe the Vista theme song should
be "Upside Down" (by Diana Ross or Destiny's Child) or even more appropriate
and on point the theme music from "LOST":
