Many peeps have reported same error, 1904, on installation.. on many
different threads, here and elsewhere (so I will not repeat the details
here). But, Catch 22, this free product is unsupported, so you can't get a
fix from there.

I have read all the threads, including use of FileMon and RegMon (never get
an Access Denied message or equivalent), disabled DEP; I am still stumped.

If there just happens to be a merciful MS person around, how about sorting
this one out? The use of RAW images is on the increase, so help it along,
then peeps will want your more expensive digital suite. ;-))

Just a wild thought but I wonder if you
have installed .NET Framework 2.0?

I realize the RAW viewer requires .NET
Framework 1.1 but maybe 2.0 creates
some type of incompatibility.

Thanks for the thought, yes - got FW2.0. Maybe I could try uninstalling

They install separately, you probably
still have 1.1...and I don't know if
uninstalling 2.0 will solve your issue...
If you try it...let us know the result.

Anyway...1.1 is still available:

Yes, 1.1 plus an update is installed.
I removed 2.0, and problem is still the same.
(Tomorrow, gotta get 2.0 back ! )
As a sw developer, I can't understand why MS can't do a quick debug on the
dll and see what is going wrong. With so many having the problem, it must be
easy to find a configuration to reproduce it on. I would prefer to pay some
2-figure sum for the app and then demand support - always same trouble with
freebies, you get what you pay for!

Sorry, I guess it was worth a try.

If you discover the fix, please share it with this group.
