To convert,open cmd prompt,type:CONVERT D: /FS:ntfs
If no file system is present though you need to format,
type the same cmd, just switch to FORMAT D: /FS:ntfs

Thanks for the advice Andrew E. but it did not work. It
said it can not convert RAW file system. Is there any
other advice before I have to format the drive?

RAW is your first clue, it is obviously unformatted now. Use your XP CD to format the partition to NTFS, since that is your goal. If you mean a separate partition, click start/run and type (no quotes) "diskmgmt.msc" and cick "OK". Then in the snap-in, right click on, and highlight the partition in question , and "format.

Thanks for the advice Alex Nichol,
I am sorry but it did not work. When I went into the
program it saw that there was a disk and saw the label.
It said that it was FAT-32. I tried the NTFS one and
rebooted and windows still wanted to format the drive. I
put it to another FAT-32 it was the 12 one not the 11
that it was originally. If you have anymore suggestions
they would be greatlfullly appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt
