I don't remember changing anything, except maybe installing that .net
framework thing, but I never had to click on a profile to start up, and the
alternative, the password logon screen never showed up either. Also, when I
go to Start - Shut down, it used to show shutdown, log off, and restart icons
next to each other. Now it has the drop window a la windows ME. Is there any
way to change any of these back? If not, why did this stuff change?

Hi

Go to control pannel user accounts, "change the way user log in " and mark
both boxes.

Best regards!

Hello,

1) Click on Start/Run and type CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2

2) Uncheck 'Users must enter a passwords...'

3) Hit apply and supply the username and password for the account under which you want Windows to
log in everytime.

4) Ok your way out.

To enable the welcome screem:

Click on Start and click on control panel. Under control panel, click on user accounts and then
click on 'Change the way user log on or off' and then put a check next to "Use the welcome screen".
