RAS will not work due to a security policy

don't know how or why, but when windows starts up, it says
it says it is setting up a 'security policy.'
I think the 'security policy' may be related to the fact
that I cannot get Remote Access Connection manager to
start.

this is a machine that had six worms/viruses. I cleaned
it all up, reloaded windows 2000 --- and only the LAN
works, not the remote access dial-up.

Did you do a fresh install to a formatted disk? After all the infections, I think
that is the only way to go to insure integrity of the operating system. --- Steve
