An application programmer downloaded a program called vnc
(virtual network computing). This site can be seen when
searching through google.com. This site is located in the
UK, from a university. I have no knowledge concerning this
software, however it appears to cause RAS to not start
with an error code 2, and event viewer id 7024. It also
has another event viewer id of 20103 " cant load
c:\winnt\system32\iprtrmgr.dll". I uninstalled the vnc
program and reloaded windows 2000 server . The problem
still exists. I am about to reformat and reload, however
if there is any knowledge of a fix iI will appreciate it.

Thank You

It looks like a dll is corrupt or missing. A "repair" install should fix
it rather than doing a reformat/reinstall. I doubt if VNC is the cause. I
run VNC with RAS all the time.

Hi all,

Had the same problem with server 2003. Follow this article here, check
that the dll's associated with RAS are present and have the correct
security permissions.

Formatting is unnessicary to fix this problem. Simply repair as per
the Microsoft white paper.
