win2k network, win2k ras server, win2k laptop.

problem:

if i login to my laptop and then connect to our network thru ras i
cannot see [thru net commands or browsing the network] all the shares
i need to access. i can see the volume. i always get my home
directory. this works fine when on the lan.

same results if i ras directly into the network rather than connecting
locally then ras'ng.

if i dialup using a machine that just was on the lan and did seee
things correctly then i will shares correctly thru the ras. if i
delete the mapped drive for that share, reboot and reconnect then i
have the same problem not being able to see all the shares.

suggestions please?

Are you using offline folders for these shares? Also, are you not seeing the share or are you not seeing the server hosting the
share? Try accessing the share by clicking Start>Run \\servername\sharename. Does that work? Any errors?

Thank you,

i do see the server, but not most of the shares on that server.

i'll try that. but i have tried it using the unc and net use and it has not worked.

that is

net use N: \\server\share

would give me an error.
