Hi Everyone,

Why do I see multiple DHCP addresses for some of my Pc's with a RAS icon? What if any is the harm of deleting these additional IP addresses, and how do I prevent them from returning? I have searched this newsgroup for persons with a similar problem before I post, but I realized those posts were not answered. Thanks in advance.

Best regards
Sam

When you configure rras to use dhcp, one IP address is leased to each port as
shown in ras - usually about ten. Those are issued to computers that connect
remotely. If you don't need rras to use as many leases as shown then reduce the
number of ports you have configured [usually pptp and l2tp]. You can delete them
if they are not being used currently, otherwise they may be issued to another
computer and cause an IP address conflict. ---- Steve

If you open the Routing and Remote Access Console, from Administrative
Tools, right click onthe Server and select Properties, Then the IP tab, you
can assign the server it's own address pool, I have assigned mine two
addresses, the minimum, if you assign two from your DHCP scope don't forget
to exclude them from the scope.
