Randomly change display background

I would like to have the system randomly select a new background image from a
particular directory, but have been unable to locate the capability.
Previous versions of Windows had this capability. Can anyone help?
 
AFAIK no version of Windows has had this ability (don't know about
Vista) however there are hundreds of third-party utilities that can do this.
