After installing XP my system restarts on its own after
30 mins or so and when trying to run defrag in XP of
Norton Systemworks 2004. I have reinstalled every driver
I can think of that is necessary and uninstalled numerous
older programs with no fix. Anyone got a answer or
suggestion.

You need to install, update, and run a anti-virus program
as soon as possible, as this can be the blaster worm.

It could the the result of a "system failure" class error.

Open Control Panel - System - Advanced and click on the Settings
button in the Startup and Recovery (bottom) section.

In the Startup and Recovery window click on the checkbox for
"automatically restart" to clear it. Click on Apply and OK as needed
to exit.

That should put an end to the restarts/reboots. However these may be
replaced by "Blue Screen Of Death" STOP error messages and the system
may then lock up requiring a manual power off and restart. If that
does happen then the contents of the STOP error message will be a
direct clue as to the underlying cause of the problem.

Post the contents of the STOP error message including all of the
parameter codes back here if you need assistance with that. Or you
can check out the STOP error message at MVP Jim Eshelman's STOP errors
web page at http://www.aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm

Good luck
