Random Restarting while on the internet

I've seen this error posted several times before on this newsgroup. My computer randomly restarts when I'm on the internet, never while I am offline. However, I can say that this is not worm-related as I have already scanned my PC with two separate pieces of software.

The restarts themselves tend to be very sudden. The screen turns black and after a few seconds enters BIOS for the computer's startup, followed by XP's startup screen. Very rarely does a Blue Screen appear, although on the rare occasion that it does identify the culprit it tends to be win32k.sys that is at fault

I cannot check the log for errors due to the restart being so sudden that Windows does not write the error to the log. Is there anyone who is suffering similar problems, and if so can someone please help? Thank you for your time.

I used to have the same problem, but it randomly stopped. I still have no idea what it was, but I have a feeling it was a virus.

Greetings --

This sounds very much like a hardware problem, probably related to
overheating. Make sure all of your cooling fans are in good working
order, the interior of the PC is free of dust and lint, and that all
of the cases airways are unobstructed.

Yes, one of my friends has suggested that, although I personallly believe that overheating is not the case as this only occurs while I am online. I am starting to think that it may be a bad connection on the PCI modem card, although I cannot check for myself as I live in a top floor flat and thus cannot ground myself properly. As for the overheating matter, I installed SpeedFan to check the temperature of my PC, and here are my current readings after the computer being on for 30 minutes

Temp3: 37°
HD0: 27°
Temp2: 30°
Temp1: 3°

My friend also has similar problems to this, although he does know the source of it. He is on BlueYonder broadband, and it's his BlueYonder modem driver that is causing his restarts. However, I don't believe that the driver is the cause of my problems.
