Hi all, I got a problem with a computer installed with
Windows 2000 OS. The computer will randomly restart for no
particular reason. I have scanned the computer for virus,
nothing was found. And i have checked the registry--> (run
and run once) nothing strange was found. Have stop the
windows auto update service, and all startup programs. If
anyone have a solution please email me. Thanks all.

Random reboots are often caused by faulty memory, overheating, a bad power
supply or one going bad, etc.
Software is not always the cause of random reboots.

As a follow up to MaryQuiteContrary's reply.....
I remember reading somewhere that one should switch off
their unit (obviously) remove their RAM and re-insert
them..and that sometimes help.
