Random Reboots

Drahkas

I have been experiencing random reboots for a while.
Recently I started upgrading everything, at this poing
nothing is old, I started getting reboots a while after i
grabbed the K7N2 Delta nForce 2 mobo and only weeks
before I got an AMD Athlon XP 3200+.

I tried following a support doc(314084) about dumpchk and
pstat but the output i got from a minidump was different
than the examples. Still I took some stabs in the dark
and the memory address that i compared to my processes
seemed to match up with ntoskrnl.exe. Apparently this is
the core of the OS, hah.

Are there any relevant articles about crashes and
minidumps i should read? And if it is ntoskrnl.exe should
i format and reinstall? I've reformatted once and the
reboots still occured.

Sys info is:
Windows xp Pro
K7N2 Delta Nforce 2 mobo
Athlon XP 3200+
1024MB Samsung DDR 400fsb pc3200 RAM(dual channeled)
Gainward Geforce 6800 GT golden sample
Creative Audigy 2
Antec True 480w PSU
80GB IBM Deskstar
120GB Maxtor
32x Compac CD-ROM
random A drive i found in an old comp

Easiest way to fix this without looking at the memory dumps would be to
upgrade all the drivers on the system to their latest versions. Also update
your BIOS to the latest version as well.

The MPS reporting tool will tell you what versions of drivers you are
running on the box (check out the pstat and drivers .txt files):

Description of the Microsoft Platform Support Reporting Utility (816819)
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;816819
(run up the MPSRPT_SETUPPerf version)

Cheers,
Dimce
