Just installed WinXP Home in a newly built home system.
Right from the get go the system suffers random reboots.
While building it I took the precaution of grounding
myself and using an anti-static strap, so that shouldn't
be a problem. Tried to load the latest drivers for ATI
AIW 9800 Pro, but the system continually reboots at the
welcome screen, same with the drivers on the installation
CD. Thought this was an amazing coincidence, so I dropped
video acceleration to "None," no joy. The KB seems to be
extrememly lacking in info.
A friend has experienced the exact same problem (his is
store bought) and he has referred it to MS engineers who
said there is a problem with a driver as yet to be
determined. The next step is to install an older video
card. Does anyone have any other ideas?
