Wireless? Has the user tried replacing the batteries (with fresh ones)?

Has the user, after replacing the batteries, hit the reset button on the
bottom of the cordless mouse and then also hit the reset (or reconnect)
button on the receiver?

Anything between the cordless mouse or keyboard and the receiver that would
deflect RF, like a monitor, the computer case, a metal ruler standing on its
side, or anything that would deflect or attentuate radio?

How close is the cordless mouse and keyboard to the receiver? The manual
should indicate the maximum distance they can be separated. However, some
cordless devices also won't work well if they are too close, like under 6
inches, so move the receiver farther away.

Has the user checked that the PS/2 connectors on the end of the receiver are
fully seated in the PS/2 connectors on the back of the computer case?

Are there other cordless mouse or keyboard users in the area? Might they be
using the same brand and model? Is there an option to cycle through
frequencies or channels to avoid contention or duplication?

Is it an EMI or RF noisy environment? Get a lot of static or noise on a
portable AM radio placed in the same position as the receiver and/or mouse
and keyboard?

Is the user sure that only one mouse and/or keyboard device is listed in
Device Manager (so that multiple drivers aren't trying to control the same
device)?

Sorted it now, thanks.
Finally discovered that another wireless set up, down
stairs and about 50ft away was on the same channel!!
Did not expect that wireless of this power would travel
through concrete floors!!!!

Thanks.

Deuling mice yet! Hee hee hee.

I have the Logitech cordless optical mouse and according to Logitech's spec
web page their receiver uses only 1 frequency. According to the
instructions, after replacing the batteries, I first hit the Connect button
on the receiver and then press the Connect button on the cordless mouse.
There is no user-selectable channel select. I figure the cordless mouse
must decide to use whatever channel has the strongest RF signal from all
receivers that it may detect. That's maybe how their Cordless Four
technology works. For their Cordless Three technology, the user does select
the channel (by holding down the mouse connect button until the receiver
starts to flash).

You didn't mention which brand and model which can help in future requests
for help.
