Random IE window launches -- no toolbars

Randomly, IE launches a new window (often 10 times a night
if the PC is left on). However, the page displays without
any toolbar navigation ... it's just my home page that
starts at the point below where a search bar would
normally be. I ALT+F4 to close all of the open windows.

Does anyone know what is causing this random launching?

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
