I have a file server running Windows 2000 Advanced Server (SP4) that is
serving ~3,000,000 files. In certain folders, users are reporting that their
files are opening in read-only mode. I've scoured the Windows and VirusScan
logs, but am coming up blank.
The clients are running mainly Windows 2000 Professional (SP4), with a small
sampling of Windows XP (SP unknown). The users are also running either
Office 2000, OfficeXP or Office 2003.
I'm not sure where to look on the server to see what's going on. There are
enough people having this problem that I'm not sure it's a client issue
(unless it's a configuration error in the image).
Does anybody have any ideas? This is starting to get frustrating
