this problem or is there any information i need to find to fix this problem?
this laptop had one install of W2k but it was dropping out before so
partitioned the drive and did a new install on the second partition and ended
up with the same problem... charlie

drwatson? time of error said pid=1092. c000001d illegal instruction. i
don't know what else is needed in that message.
the error occured twice going to the same page. cable nebraska, tv
listings, set my location to zip 68642, then error occurred the second time
to the page. first time i had the error after a bit on the tv listings

Do you get a prompt to send an error report to Microsoft? (Ref. KB276550)

If so, click on the [click here] link and capture the Error Signature
(unfortunately not shown by the article). You can capture its contents
to ClipBoard using your mouse and keyboard, e.g. doubleclick on a word
then press Ctrl-a,Ctrl-c.

Note that errors when closing IE are quite likely to be caused by interference
due to incompatible third-party programs, so to try changing your symptom
try reducing as much as possible your use of them. E.g. one simple way to
avoid the presence of BHOs globally is to uncheck
Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart)
(in Options, Advanced tab, Browsing section) (Ref. KB298931)

More refined testing requires a third-party tool, such as BHODemon
(from DefinitiveSolutions.) (It has been a long time since I checked
whether this is still available.)

Good luck

today i finally got the window to send information to microsoft. i looked at
the details and don't know if i saw what i needed there but the mod name was
flash9e.ocx, modver: 9.0.115.0, offset: 001b1ac7. Appver:6.0.2800.1106. i
think i am up-to-date on updates for my W2k. i only get this error when the
flash player runs, at least thats what i think. i will check to see if there
are any fixes for flash player and check if i need a previous version for
flash player. if i was still working and not retired i could get a better
laptop. used to work in tech maintaining a network for a small school.
thanks for the help. charlie
if i get the signature, i will try to post it... thanks again.

2. Reboot.

3. Install Flash Player v9.0.115.0:

4. Test Flash and Shockwave Players: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/

I was wrong about installing flash again. i couldn't even get on and msn is
my home page. there was a GE ad that had sound and motion and was crashing
me. had revo uninstaller and used that to remove flash and shockwave and
then i didn't have any problem getting msn to come up. i will go to the site
you indicated to get further information on my problem. thanks. charlie
