I'm doing a powerpoint and getting these strange floating bullet points
in places where I do not want them, usually right below a bullet point
that I do want. I cannot figure out how to erase the unwanted bullet
points. Can anyone out there help me?

When you say "strange floating bullet points," do you mean a bullet point on
the next line down that doesn't have any text next to it. If so, you can
click on the line next to the bullet point and just backspace the bullet
point away.

I frequently get this when I am cutting and pasting stuff into PPT. What
ever I cut had a line return on the end of it, and the line return is
advancing to the next line. If you have pasted a copule of things into PPT,
you could have several empty lines below your text, which could quickly fill
up your slide.

Even if you don't backspace the empty line away, it will not show in slide
show view or when printed.

Thanks, Ron. Nicely answered. One little caveat:
Even if you don't backspace the empty line away, it will not show in slide
show view or when printed.

It depends on what version of PPT it finds its way into. I forget who had
which version but at one time I had to check all the files from one client very
carefully ... he always used extra Enter key whacks to add spacing between
lines. If I wasn't careful about deleting 'em all, they'd print.
