For security reasons, we've run a program called
sanitizer on W2K machines. Now, I'm trying to reinstall
W2K Server. On 3 different machines, I see the Disk 0 at
ID 0. When I go to install, it this disk does not
contain a Windows 2000-compatible partition. However, it
won't allow me to create a 2000 partition. What options
do I have?

Thanks

Hi Edward,
Three possibilities (there may be more):

1. Delete existing partitions to free up space, then create a new one during
Windows Setup (understanding that any and all data on the deleted partition
will be irrevocably lost).

2. Replace the hard disk if there's a chance it could be faulty. I'd say
there's a pretty good chance, if you're not able to create partitions on it.
Could also be a faulty disk controller involved (run hardware diagnostics).

3. Discuss this issue with the vendor of the Sanitizer utility (I'm not
familiar with it); if you think Sanitizer has something to do with the
inability to create or install to a partition, the software vendor would be
a good place to start.
