I installed the spyware and it worked great for about 5
days. I tried it and would not load. I checked the task
window and it said it was not responding. I un installed
it, re loaded, did not work. Un installed, down loaded a
clean version, re installed it and it still did not work.
I thought this would be great but now I have my doubts.

Do you have Norton System Works/Norton Internet Security installed ?

Yes I have Norton Anti Virus on the system. On a second
home system I also have Norton Anti Virus and it works
fine. I also have it on my systme at work along with the
corporate version of Norton anti virus.

Are all versions of NAV the same with the exact same settings for all ?
Is the hardware identical on all systems ? (i.e. CPU, RAM,
video adapter )
Is the software installed on the different systems exactly the same ?

Give this a shot --- temporarily disable NAV's real-time
protection|email scanner, then try scanning again. If that fails, boot
to Safe Mode and see if it will scan there.

NAV is deeply rooted in the system and may appear as malware ... heck,
some say it IS the virus ;)

I had the exact same problem on a system. I was able to
resolve it by:
1. Uninstalling the windows antispyware.
2. Delete the Microsoft Antispyware folder which is
located under the C:\Program Files folder.
3. Disable my antivirus software.
4. Reinstall the Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware but do not
select Launch Now in the install.
5. Open the AntiSpyware program from the desktop Icon.
6. Take the default through the initial setup prompts and
it will then update the signatures and run a scan.

Good Luck
